Dear Sherri,

summer days extra sweet.
Sherri's Summer Favorites
Ogee Makeup + Skincare
Two years ago I woke to a face that was unrecognizable on my right side. We feared it was a stroke and were relieved to learn it was an acute case of Bell's Palsy instead. (Amazing the things we can be grateful for - not a stroke - Thank you Lord!) During that time I treated myself to Ogee and continue to treat myself every day! This is my favorite.
A Huge Pan of Chalupas + Mexican Coke
Family meals are the best! One of our favorites is Chalupas. I make a sheet pan or two, place in the middle of the table and we jump in! These days, I serve with mexican coke in large glass bottles and Paletas (Mexican popsicles) for dessert. So much fun and so very good.
Chico's Trouser Shorts + Jergen's Natural Glow
To survive Texas summers we have to be comfortable and cool! These shorts are the best. Sweet Ali (who works with us) told me about this lotion that gradually builds up a tan over time and I love it! It's not orange and streaky - it's just enough.
Brooke's Summer Favorites
Chantecaille Lip Chic in Damask
The brand that made my favorite lipstick of all time went out of business a few year ago and I've been looking for a replacement while carefully conserving my last precious tube. I finally found a passable duplicate and I feel like myself again! This is a sheer, hydrating wash of color—more balm than lipstick, really. The website calls it a black cherry (appropriate) but I'd say it leans more berry-inflected red.
Sparkling Coconut Water from Aldi
I love coconut water and I love fizzy water, so this is my perfect combination. It's delicious straight from the can but my favorite is to mix it with unsweet tea, fresh mint, and lots of lemon and lime. Hydrating, refreshing and delicious—it tastes like summer to me.
Two-Player "Messy" Mahjong with Addie
I've joined the Mahjong bandwagon and will never look back. My favorite way to play right now is an improvised "messy" style that can be played with two players and is a little more beginner-friendly. Addie and I have been playing a ton and we're starting to teach my nephews, too. Everyone's hooked!
How are you savoring these sweet summer moments? Any favorites (new or old) that are leading to connection, fun, and joy? I'd love to hear about them!
Much love,
