Easy Dulce de Leche (Mexican Caramel Sauce)

You can make a super easy (and incredibly delicious) Dulce de Leche with just a can of Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk and a little bit of time!

  1. Remove label and place unopened can on its side in a large pot. Cover with water about 2 inches above can.
  2. Cook on medium heat for two and half to three hours. (Keep an eye on it. You may need to add water if it boils away.)
  3. Remove from heat and let cool. Open the can and you'll find amazing Dulce de Leche!

My grandmother made an amazing pie with bananas piled in a pie shell covered with this auce. She mounded fresh whipped cream on the top! Inspired by her pie, we also love topping a slice of our Southern Cream Cheese Pound Cake with a scoop of ice cream, banana slices, and a generous drizzle of this delicious sauce for a Tex-Mex infused treat that is over-the-top decadent.
